Ike Novitasari is an elementary school teacher from Indonesia with more than six years of teaching experience. She graduated from Universitas Brawijaya, majoring in Agroecotechnology, where her studies in plants, ecosystems, and sustainable agriculture later shaped her approach to teaching.

Although she initially pursued a path in agroecology, Ike discovered her true passion in education—especially in creating meaningful learning experiences for young children. Her background in ecological sciences naturally guided her toward nature-based learning, a pedagogy she now integrates into her daily classroom practices.

Ike’s work focuses on helping children observe, explore, and build relationships with the natural world. She designs simple yet powerful hands-on activities that connect academic concepts with real phenomena—caring for plants, exploring soil, observing insects, and learning directly from nature’s cycles. Through these experiences, she aims to nurture wonder, empathy, creativity, and environmental awareness.

Outside the classroom, Ike continues to cultivate her love for nature by gardening, writing reflections inspired by natural phenomena, and composing short poems. She is currently developing a new community project: a Weekend Nature Class, a playful outdoor learning program designed to help children spend their weekends engaging with nature while receiving meaningful educational benefits.

Ike believes that nature teaches us quietly and generously—about growth, patience, resilience, and interconnectedness—and she hopes to continue creating spaces where children can experience these lessons firsthand.
